Found Love in Singapore

Our Singapore Trip was one of the most awaited part of our 2012. It is primarily for our delegation in EAFONS and APRS but it turned out to be even more fun than what it is supposed to be. One week before our flight, everyone was already fidgety--- bags were already packed, food was already stored and itineraries were already made. Everyone's mouth had been so jumpy about it. It was the start of our excitement, our sleepless nights.

February 21, 2012. It was 6 in the morning when most of our group took off. I, together with Aeds, Alfred and my "cool" titas followed 4 hours later. We landed at Changi Airport, Singapore's budget terminal. The weather quirked within our skins immediately. It was teasing warm air kissing our bodies. O, are we still in the Philippines? Well, the only difference is, you sweat but you never feel greasy. Yes, not like in Sampaloc, Manila. The immigration was quite strict. Too good for me that the immigration officer was cute. Haha. Close my eyes! Thereof, we decided to take a cab to our Hotel. "Sir, can you drop us at Fragrance Ruby Hotel Geylang?" The driver answered with "Ho rokey, Rolong Gerlang. Wa Rolong?" My eyebrows met, all I was able to say is "WTF. Ano daw?" Good enough, I got skills regarding communication (Naaah). Finally reached the epic place. When I say epic, it's really EPIC. Viola! I felt like I was in Ermita! But nevermind the environment, I just really needed to take off my shoes and try to lie down even just for a minute. Checked in at the hotel, got our keys and went to the rooms. Gaaad, how many degrees do I need to turn this key around to make this door open! Pulled the door, turned the key, pushed the door, turned the key. Nah, none of it worked. Kept the key turning and then I heard a lucky snap. Boom, you're open baby. Saw the room. It was cute. IT WAS CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!!! Hahaha. 2 glasses of water, not actually in bottles, a TV, a bathroom with a tub only used for showering, I guess, 2 beds, a desk where I can place half the butt of my hand carry bag and a closet nice to play hide and seek on. Skip the hotel part. But just a thought, IT WAS CUTE! Had our lunch in a small eatery just in front of the hotel. We were too hungry to be choosy with the food. It was good though and the accommodation was good too. Haha. Skip skip.

Went with my titas and grandma on a City tour. we rode bus 100 to reach the city. At first we were too ignorant about the paying system because everyone was punching their cards and we were like, walang ganiyan sa Manila! But the tour guide of my friends' group was also there, he was too willing to help. Thank you Henry, it was so nice of you. The ride took around 20 minutes to reach the place. It was already drizzling that time. But the place was still awesome though. So it was just a matter of Let's Do This! Now this is the real deal. Hello Singapore! Hello life!

Day 1 starts. Went to Esplanade Road to capture some photos on different amazing landmarks seen within the area. Here it goes...
Taken at the heart of the city with Marina Bay Sands at the back. It was really drizzling with a little breeze of summer air. A lot of people from different races were there. We could not even figure out who were the natives of Singapore that time.

Still around the city was the Esplanade. Quite a structure.

The Merlion. Just adjacent to Esplanade. A lot more other kinds of people around this place. It was pretty hard to have a good spot in the area.

The Singapore Flyer. It had always been my dream to ride on it during an awesome night. Well, they said you can see the whole Singapore when you're on top of it. Who else wouldn't want to have that experience?

At One Fullerton. Wanted to try the River Cruise but time didn't allow us to.

Got what we wanted along Esplanade Road. And then, we saw a sign pointing to the Lau Pau Park & Festival Market. We got so curious about it that we followed the road to its end. Too unlucky for us that we reached a place out of no where. We ended up not reaching the market. We were already at a shopping center called One Raffles Place. We were too tired of walking so we decided to grab the opportunity to raid the place. It was really nice. You could buy good clothes for less thinking that the place is on a high end.

It was already around 6 in the evening when we decided to leave the place. Tried bus 167 to Orchard Road. We got lost at first because we went down on a different station, but thanks to the Singaporean students who helped us get through the MRT to reach Ion Orchard. They got branded stores which were all offering discounts and promos. Got ourselves on a panic buying mode because of it. The inside of the building was good but the outside was even better. City Lights were bashing and City people were everywhere. Just to my thought, I am already in Singapore.

Day 2. It's my first full day with my college friends. We started the day with our EAFONS delegation at Furama Hotel. Our eyes were flooded with research enthusiasts and belters. But at least, we tried to have ourselves belong with them since our researches were really good. It's a Doc A level. And it's an add on to the charisma!

With Mike. Rushing to get good food during the conference.

Clarke Quay was our next stop for the day. Had some rest after the conference then off to the place at around 8 in the evening. It was Bugis supposedly but Singapore minds run too quickly. So Clarke Quay, it is!

At Cuba Libre. Jo dancin ya sexy time! Leggo!

With the whole group

At Forbidden City. A lot of girls, a lot of boys, a lot of people. Not.
Katya rocked the dance floor alone. HAHA.

Day 3. Universal's Studios Singapore! Well, I guess this was the highlight of the trip, thinking that this made us realize that SG is the hopeless place. Hahaha. No, seriously, it was the most awesome part of the trip. Felt like I was in Universal's Studios California, just that Kingkong wasn't here. Good company was the best and yeah, awesome people around! *grins*

With Chloe in front of the Universal's Studios trademark logo.

Hell yeah for a jump shot!

So proud of Chloe for overcoming her fear of... Roller Coasters? Hahaha.

With whoever they are. Cleopatra? Machete? I don't know. Basta. Hahaha.

Shrek and Fiona.
Fiona's a bitch. She was telling me I was same as her size. Hahaha.
Okay, fine. Cool though.

With Alex of Madagascar.

With Mort!

Madagascar

Sleep in a room like this? Grow 5 pounds a day!

At last, the complete group, off to the Songs of the Sea

Another group photo

Best part of the day! We thought it was pure coincidence (Yeees! Hahaha.) But we've always seen them everywhere. It all started when we were at Sci-Fi City. We've been crushing the guy in red since the first time we saw him and we were very eager to meet him. Until they left a bag on a table just next to ours. Decided to return it back personally. Yeah, it was a desperate measure cause the guy in red was really cute. Gave it back successfully and woot, they even treated us for a drink. They insisted food  but we thought it was too much--- cause just a picture with them would do. Hahaha. They were from Colombia and the dad was a pilot of Qatar Airways. Booyah! And then four flirty girls got their minds lost. La la la la la.

This was taken from the Songs of the Sea, a show played at Sentosa Island. The show was great, just didn't like the actors. I was pretty disturbed by the sweat and the jumping boobs--- and kuya singer's song. Ariel's guy version, eh? But it was wonderful though. Totally A-M-A-Z-I-N-G water works.

Day 4. Technically, I guess this was the last day of the trip. Sad, but made the most out of it most especially with bestfriend Chloe.

Started the day again with the conference. Now it's already APRS. Presented our posters and heard some concurrent sessions. Our classmates and schoolmates were really good. Just got envious about it cause we were't given a chance to have an oral presentation. So proud of them though! Thomasian nurses are really great!

One thing I really liked about the conference was the food. It was totally great! Just like what Jane said, Ang sarap kumain! Got our tummies super satisfied. I was able to try dishes I never tasted before like the jelly fish thing, it was, hmmm. Honestly, it upsets my stomach upto now, thinking of it. But over all, the food was good.

Left the conference at around 3 in the afternoon. Went to the hotel and then jumped straight to Bugis. Shopping!!! there were a lot of cheap stuffs found here. Bought our pasalubongs and stuffs. I was with Lanz, Aira and Chloe that time.

Chloe and I found this Sex store around Bugis but Chloe didn't want to have a picture in front of it so it was a solo photo for me. Well, I didn't really care how people who were walking in front of me stare at my pose. Hahaha. Funny though but just really wanted to document what we saw. Well, it was my first time to see a store like this, believe it or not. Okay, whatever.

Wafer Ice Cream for $1.00
Seriously, it's delicious. It's a street food in SG by the way.

From Bugis, Lanz and Aira separated for their so-called date, whatever. Haha. Kidding. So Chloe and I decided to go to the flyer. Checked our money, thinking it was enough. Bought ourselves some burger from Bugis to fill our stomach. Had fruit shakes too--- tasted like water with sugar. What a drink.

Chloe and I rode bus 100 from Park View to reach the center of the city. The moon was already showing when we arrived Esplanade Road by walking from the bus station. Took pictures and had the ultimate "girl-bonding."

O, Singapore you are such a place.

Marina Bay Sands during the night.

Singapore Flyer

Here we go! Singapore Flyer we're here!

So I guess, this is the peak of the flyer. Took a timer photo since all other passengers were busy taking their own photos. Saw the whole of Singapore from here. There were lights everywhere which I never saw in Manila. Chloe and I decided to come back here on a double date. What a dream. Haha. But if ever, it would be very nice to share moments. Kilig!

When you're at the top of everything, you realize that things can change so quickly that not even the best effort could ever turn it back. (Just a realization when we were at the peak.)

The Singapore Flyer helped a lot for us to end the SG trip great. But as Chloe and I dropped off the flyer, we checked the money left of us and yes, it wasn't really enough for us to get home. We were freaking out cause it was just the two of us. We decided to walk along the side walks until we got to the end of the road. Literally, it was already the end of the road and still, we haven't seen our way back. That time, we realized, we are already lost. But thanks to the Mr. Biking Guy who helped us get a cab. We were just too fidgety that our money isn't really enough, I mean, we got dollars but not Singapore dollars. Oh no! Chloe had 10SGD and me, O poor me, I got only 10cents. Hahaha! The Flyer had no Money Changer so we really had no choice but to take the risk. Jumped through the cab and told the driver, Geylang Lorong 20. The driver responded politely and he drove us off to the hotel. Arrived the hotel with a taxi rate of $12.50. It was a total freak out. Chloe stayed on the cab while I jumped off to literally search for money.  Thought of being a Geylang girl instead. Hahaha! But just my luck! My titas were already home. Got the money and payed the annoyed taxi driver. Wooh!

Day 5. Last Day! *tears*

We went to Mustafa for a midnight shopping after we all met at the hotel after Chloe and I's flyer, Aira and Lanz's cable car and Angee's own tour. This was already February 25 since it was a midnight shopping so I'll be putting it on the 5th day.

Mustafa is an indian store selling imported goods from foreign countries as well as local goods from Singapore. Bought most of the pasalubongs here cause it has more products good for pasalubong than Bugis. Was with Aira, Chloe and Angee that time. Lanz didn't join us anymore, well, I was a little bit pissed off of him that time too. Haha.

But then, the trip got closer to its end. February 25, 2012 10:35am was my flight to Manila. It was a mixture of feelings. I was too excited to go home and share the stories but too sad to leave the wonderful place.

It was indeed a good travel. Singapore will always be in my heart because it allowed me to see things I've never seen and feel the emotions I never felt before. One thing I learned from this trip is that life has a lot of surprises, it's just a matter of grabbing the opportunity to see them or forever ignore them and never feel how awesome life can be. Travelling had always been what I wanted and SG made me feel to love it more. Til the next trip! Thanks for reading!

*Sorry the photos got blurry, I guess blogger can't handle the sizes. And sorry for grammatical errors, if there are, and whatever other stuffs. Just wanted to share this experience. :)

Mapple Tree

I was in the fourth grade when I had this bestfriend of mine who happened to be a boy. He had this crazy, cute, messy smile which I have always stared at. He never noticed that he was my first love. I have always been wishing, HE WAS MINE.  He drinks my orange juice every recess. He shares with my umbrella every time there was rain. Every after class, he walks me home so he could spend time at home to copy some notes that I had. I also loved how we hanged out under the maple tree. I was his tutor in English because he was performing poorly. I enjoyed how we shared smiles and thoughts at that place. But I knew it, he never noticed me the way I had noticed him. I like him, I love him, but I never had the guts to tell him. I feared and I don’t know why.

We were in High School when I really dreamt of having him as my date during our prom but I was too shy to ask him because we were only friends. Best friends, we can only be. A month before the prom, he went to me very frustrated. He was telling me that his date is sick. He asked me to be the substitute of his date. I agreed. So as with the condition that we’ll be going out as friends. Just friends. The prom went well, he was staring at me while we were dancing The King and Queen of Hearts. At that moment, I wanted to tell him I love him and that I'd like to be more than his best friend. I wanted to be more than the best friend who had always been his shoulder when he had disappointments. But I was a coward. The night ended without anything that came out of my mouth. I was too shy, I was too afraid to tell the truth. He might get frustrated and our friendship could end the bad way. I’d rather not tell him how I felt than sacrifice what’s left of us.

It was our graduation day when he ran towards me. He hugged me so tight that I didn’t want to let go.  Then he kissed me on my cheek. But I knew, I shouldn’t think of anything that it could possibly mean. All I know is that we were best friends and best friends, we could ever be. He wore out his medal from his loyalty award for the school and hanged it on my neck. I was a little bit surprised. I had the most awkward face at that moment, thank God he quickly added “This is for the bestest Best friend I could ever have.” Yeah, best friend. Best friend, I could ever be. I just gave the awkward grin and bade my good bye. I wanted to tell him I love him. I wanted him to be mine. But I couldn’t, I feared.

Long months passed, we got separate lives during college. He always tried to contact me through phone and emails but I was too busy with my schooling. Read some e-mails and heard some voice mails. He was always talking about this girl he met at the bar during a freshman night. He told me he liked her and that he had plans of dating her. Every week, he sent me e-mails, I got tired of reading same stuffs about this girl so I started to ignore his messages. But that time, I still wanted him to be mine. I really do. But he liked someone and that we were best friends and Best friends we could ever be.

Years passed, I was sitting on a bench of the church watching him getting married to the girl he had talked about since college. They were happy, they told each other their vows. I was teary-eyed cause it was the end of my fantasy that one day, my best friend could ever notice the glances I gave him. I want him to be mine. But I was just a best friend, he is in love with some body. And best friend, I COULD EVER BE.

I had to live my life satisfying myself with the family I have. I know that the first love that I’ve been through was tough but it had taught me how to fight for love. I am now old, I have lost a lot. News came to me that he is already dead. I visited his funeral. I was there, he was about to be buried. Before the land closes him underneath, someone from his family read a letter he wrote way back when he was in High School. It went this way.

“My first love... I have always loved the way she cares for me, the way she had always thought of me before herself. I loved her since the brink of my life and I know I’ll love her ‘til the rest. I loved how she taught me on my weaknesses. And I loved how she smiles at me. It had always brightened up my day. I most especially love how she catches me whenever I fell down. But I never had the chance to tell her the truth. I feared, I was too shy. I was afraid that she might end the good friendship we have. I know I am just a best friend. And Best friend, I could ever be. Best friends, we could ever be.”

I felt so terrified. I just didn’t know exactly how to feel. He had loved me, he was mine. And I suddenly realized that he is being buried under the same maple tree we have always been going to.

If only...

8 Days Before Valentine's

I arrived our classroom for our HETAR class feeling a little bit different. The classroom was the same, but the people in it weren't. Seemed like everyone's fidgety about the homeworks but still very buoyant with regards to their mood.

That thing that happened the past night became the center of attention. Well, actually, not only with the past night but also with what happened the past week. O, Saturday, it is.
NOTE: I am not imposing anything with this blog entry alright, just thought of making one cause the day is perfect for Valentine's day. :)

One friend of mine, let's hide him using the name Lawrence. Hahaha. Well, he started the word of the day which is "Haler!" So I greeted him first thing in the afternoon with it. Well, let's cut this short, I'm too lazy to describe how he reacted. Okay, back. Later in the afternoon, since our first period professor cut the class at 2pm even if the class is still until 3pm, we gained a free-free time. Just so you know, it's nothing new. But the prof insisted that he was the only one attending classes that day. Well, is it even a joke? Anyways, anyways. There was nothing to do anymore since we have accomplished the Socio homework already. My friend Lawrence who is currently linked to my BFF (let's hide her with the name Jenny) had a major major blush. Caught him looking at her. He kept on denying it and I hate it. Hahaha. His cheeks turned to cherry chopsticks. I at least noticed it. And Shalomi did too, and Alma (not their real names. Hahaha.) I am telling the truth you guys, he just had the awesom-est sparkling moment in his life. Well, this is true since he's delayed in terms of puberty. Hahaha. The whole afternoon was spent picking up on them and it's a good thing that they'll be having a good Valentine's Day. Well, I guess, at least. What do you think? Jenny even taught me the lyrics of "It Might Be You." It was epic! First, I have a good voice. Hahaha. Second, it's for Lawrence, hope so! And third, got to sing for my crush too, in my imagination only, of course. Hahaha.

Anyways, it was a pretty good laughing day with my buddies. Except that we all got scolded because of our wrong assumptions regarding our Billing's Ovulation Method homework. But at least we tried, and it's the good thing about it. Hahaha. I don't know if I am making any sense here, but I just really wanted to jot these things down. So next week, let's make a good Valentine's day no matter what status we have. Tatah! :)

*Of course, you know the people behind the names. Just wanted to have some twists. Hahaha.

Back and Delete

I just thought that I needed to check things out again and try to figure what good thing I could do with them. Then my blog came over my senses and it made me think that I should re-model it in a way.

While I was surfing my entire blog earlier, I was laughing at myself because I have so many stupid posts before. LITERALLY STUPID, Idiot-some if you may call. They were hilarious! My my, I couldn't even take the guts to read them again. O well, 4 years needed to pass for me to realize that I'm missing on a lot of things. I guess, I've been too much preoccupied with the social networking sites that I have forgotten that blog could even be more useful at this point of time. So I guess, you have noticed it already, I deleted my entire 2008, 2009, 2010 posts! Honestly, I am still smiling at the moment because my blogs were really full of emotions that time and it really sucks because literally they were EMO-tions. So I guess, I really need to ponder on things and get this back in to action. And yeah, I'm pretty inspired with others who're doing some blogging too. I guess, I smothered my mind that this could be benefiting their whole being. I guess so. It's a good thing. REALLY. Well, too much of the drama. I am really hoping that I could see you here more next time. So okay then bye, much love, Ninj. :)
