Nail Dare: Americana

It's been a while since my last post on Nail Dare. But since I promised on my last post about giving a tutorial on the Americana Nail, I'll be doing it right now. I'm teaching you how to do it. But before anything else, I would just like to thank you for all your good feedbacks regarding Nail Dare. My posts on Nail Dare, as I kept track on it, are some of the most viewed posts in my blog. So I guess, this will make us invade the fashion on nails. And I heard some of you telling me you tried some designs already and it "fattened" my heart. Haha! So there, let's get started with this.

I had this design on my nails two times already. Once was when I can't remember and the second was during Gaga's concert. I just felt like wearing it! Maybe because the flag of America will suit her concert since she has a song entitle Americano. Well, just a thought. Haha. But anyway, here's how.

1. Apply a white coating on your nails. Double coat it if it is too thin.
2. Using a nail art brush, paint on red stripes from the base of your nails to the tip. Apply them around 1-2mm away from each other. draw the last two stripes half way to give way for the blue part of the flag.
3. Apply a blue corner just above the red stripes you drew half way. By the way, before applying the red stripes and the blue corner, make sure that your white coating is dry.
4. Dry the blue corner too, a thin paint will dry up more easy.
5. Using a nail art brush, draw dots on the blue corner just like the stars on the American Flag. If you could draw stars literally, it would be better.
6. Coat the whole art with colorless nail polish after drying them up to add a shimmer.

White coating and dots- Caronia White Satin
Red stripes - Sassy Red
Blue corner - Caronia Aqua Frost

And there, you have the Americana nail! Go and try it. You could also have the Philippine flag as well. Just add a yellow nail polish and you'll know what to do! :)

Copycat Series: Spencer Hastings II

It's my second time to copy her style. And I just can't explain why I really love her wardrobe that much. All I can say is, it's classy, classic and chic. But well then, I wore this during Lady Gaga's concert, some of you might have knew it for a while because of my other posts. I just felt that I could wear this style there and I guess it ended up right. :)

Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 10 "Touched By An A-ngel" featured this style and since then, I've been searching stores and outlets to have her Cut-Out Denim Polo. Based on my research, she wore Gap. I searched everywhere but I just can't find it. I even attempted to buy one during our Singapore trip but I'm just so unlucky to find nothing but plain denim polos. But too lucky for me, I found one at Jellybean just last week while I was looking for a good pair of shoes which I also wore with this polo. Just my luck! So redundant but I just felt really lucky! And here it is.

Cut-out Denim Polo from Jellybean, jeans from Forever 21, watch from Tomato, feather earrings from Bugis Singapore, wedges from Jellybean, brown sling bag from Forever 21, belt from SM Accesories

Wore wedges instead of boots because of our weather and I feel more comfortable with it. Folded my jeans 1/8 above to make it look better with the shoes. And yes, I also copied her hair. Hahaha! :)

Going Gaga

~~~When I say, I will see this person, I WILL!
 May 22, 2012. 8pm at the new Mall of Asia arena. Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball. I thought the second day would not have it for a sold out. We were there at around 7pm and the General Admission and VIP areas were the only areas full. Lower box had only a few people in it. There were no other people around us. But as soon as Gaga appeared, it mesmerized me that OOOOH it's another sold out for Gaga. All screams everywhere--- guys, girls and gays alike. Everyone was singing. My favorite parts of the concert were when she sang Born This Way, Bad Romance, Alejandro and Hair. She was magnificent! She danced so superb. Her stage was perfect! I just can't explain it in words. It was just so amazing!
And I felt her when she reiterated that she went to our country for art and not to bash our culture and religion. I believed her when she said despite of all the critiques who're giving her the negative image, she'd rather spread more of that positivity. I just don't know why some people just can't understand that. But I guess we are all subjected to our own opinions and I guess it's best for me to respect that.
We were very lucky because there were no more rally-ists during the second day. The concert went smooth and good. The night was very terrific. And I think, she really loves her LITTLE MONSTERS.
May 24, 2012. 3pm at the Mall of Asia atrium. It's another MOA day for us! Mr. Damon Salvatore  (Ian Somerhalder), one of the hot Salvatore brothers, greeted us with the hottest face on earth! I just can't imagine myself not being at that moment because I really wanted to see him in person. He was so nice and generous to the fans. Well, fans were girls, girls and girls. And if there were any other, they were our gay friends. That factor made the scream a little bit high pitched! There were banners everywhere! One of it saying, "Bite me Damon, I'm Vervain Free!" Another was "Do me with the Rebekah Style!" I am pretty sure, all the girls who were there felt their panties getting off their bodies. I swear, he was that hot! Hahaha!
What you see in the television is not the total of it. There was more to it. His eyes, oh yes, his eyes were killing me. His smile, oh Ian, you are so massive! And I really saw in his face that he was very eager to make the fans happy. And lucky for the three girls who went up stage to have some smoochy kiss from him. Nonetheless, I am still very happy because he blew a kiss to everyone while he was just three meters right in front of me !
It was worth squeezing myself against the flood of people. It was worth it being a fan girl. And I guess, being a fan girl, it's not just in words, but in actions. And I am very willing to do anything just to witness a lifetime experience. :)
Bucket List: Lady Gaga and Ian Somerhalder
Two of the people I really want to meet or at least see in person within this mediocrity of life are Lady Gaga and Ian Somerhalder. And guess what, their here in our country, Philippines, right now. They both actually just arrived--- Lady Gaga at around 9pm and Ian just now. Lady Gaga is here for her Monster Ball Concert and Ian for Penshoppe All Stars.
Lady Gaga. A lot of people, mostly on the religious sector, are trying to stop her Monster Ball. I guess they have a good point why it should be stopped but in my opinion, it still depends on one person either to just enjoy her music or believe in her faith. I am a Catholic Christian and I know my faith, I know myself. I am attending her concert with my 3 siblings but I guess it won't bring our soul in hell. We'll be there to just enjoy the night together and sing the songs of Gaga which we listen to on road trips and on boring days at home. My siblings are 8, 11 and 17 and I guess being an illuminati is not understandable with their age. And I guess, it never will enter their mind being such because we know what our parents want us to be and being in the Lady Gaga concert would never change this fact. Actually, Gaga had been an inspiration to everyone who've been bullied and maltreated just like how she had been through before and because of this it isn't really practical to stop her concert. Most especially, we bought our middle row seats already. Haha! So please, don't torture us by stopping the concert. And I guess, it is not really good to stop it now. You'll just waste money and I guess it's a win-lose game if that comes to a point.
Ian Somerhalder. All girls out there claim that he's their husband. Including me, of course. Vampire Diaries had been so hot because of him and Paul, and the rest of the cast actually, ALL OF THEM! I guess, I deserve to see him but this is such a last minute chance. I have to search on a free pass or at least a cheap pass through his appearances. I was supposed to go with some friends tonight at the airport to meet him or at least have a glimpse of his pretty face but I guess the opportunity just lapsed out because it had been a big confusion where he's straight to. While I am typing this right now, fans are already screaming at the airport right now and I just feel envious. Tomorrow I guess he's in Bora and it's more impossible to meet him. On the 23rd, he'll be having a PresCon and 60 fans are only allowed. It's not even a meet and greet, just a part of the audience. So 3 days pass gone, then comes the 26th for the Philippine Fashion Week. This is my only chance but look how lucky I am, my family's having a day out together that day. Another day down. It's only on this last minute mall appearance that I will get the chance but it is not yet official, no official day yet, so I am still walking through waters with it. I am still hoping to see him. One week should be enough for me to find a way.
(P.S. Thank you to all my friends who are addict with TVD, for encouraging and enlightening me. This feeling wouldn't be present if it wasn't because of you. Hahaha. Most especially CJ who sat down with me last October for TVD!)
If I will be able to see them both, well Lady Gaga should be sure at least (Don't Cancel. Please) I'll be able to check them out from my bucket list. It will take a lot of effort to find a way, most especially Ian's. So I guess, I SHOULD FIND A DAMN WAY.
Certified One Direction Fan Girl
I will honestly admit here that I am a huge fan of One Direction! That moment I learned about them last year, I immediately became so obsessed with what they do. It's a fan-girl thing. But who cares, I am really an avid fan, no one can ever change that!
So basically, I've watched all their music videos, video diaries and all stuffs. I follow all of them on twitter. I liked their fan pages on facebook. These made me know all their events.  I keep on with updates and I even tweet them almost every night. But Upto now I still haven't achieved that dream of being replied by them but I know, soon, I'll have one tremendous message from them. That would be the best day of my life!
Isa and Jen know how obsessed I am with One Direction. I admit, I'm a DIRECTIONER. Hahahaha! Basta. It's how they call the fans. So I guess, that was the reason why they surprised me with this. I've been longing to buy this a long time ago. I was even supposed to attend the Philippine launching of the album at SM the Block last February but I was very torned between going to the launch or have a meet and greet with Lucy Hale in MOA. The two events happened on the same date on two exact opposite locations. I didn't know how to divide myself with that circumstance. But in the end, I chose Lucy Hale since it's a meet and greet. Since then, I never had the time to buy the album. Anyway, I have downloaded the whole album already a long time ago. Hahaha! But still, my bad. I was just too lucky to have sweet friends who made my wish come true. Haha.
They gave this to me earlier during our review. Honestly, I was really surprised. They told me it was a super duper late birthday surprise for me. It was way too funny because I caught them. Well, not exactly. Chloe spoke out loud to Jen about Isa calling. I asked Jen several times why and she never answered. That was the start of the guessing game. So they just told me they needed to go photocopy some stuffs. But of course, I myself had an idea already. To cut the story short, I was in our room texting my sister when suddenly Jen and Isa were there approaching. They handed me a kettle popcorn. So okay--- food. Hahaha! Kidding! But then they handed next the album! And I was bloody screaming to death. Geeeeeeeze! I guess I looked so embarrassing earlier but I really failed to contain the surprise. I had an idea that there was something going on but seeing them hand me that CD was way pretty cool for my day. I just then realized after I scrambled on the floor and jumped like crazy that they were taking photos and videos of me. Dayyyym. Haha. Everything just went quickly so I re-watched the video. And O my balls! I was inZAAAAYN!!! Hahaha! Chloe took the video and it was all views of my big tummy. Haha. But it was really funny, Jen and I were laughing while watching it. I was even fooled, ALMOST, with the signatures on the CD. I thought it was true. My reaction upon seeing it was really funny. The innocence was priceless but the near ignorance was the winning moment. Hahaha!
Thank you to my awesome friends for making this day extraordinaire! You just really know how to make me happy. So now, help me have a tweet from Louis, Zayn, Harry, Niall and Liam (Jen's 1D crush)! Hahaha!
PRC Problems
Yesterday was supposed to be our scheduled date for our PRC application. PRC went to UST to have our requirements checked and done. But since I was sick last week, I needed to go home in Ilocos. I only learned about the scheduled PRC application last Sunday and I had no time to get back in Manila that time and catch the filing the next morning since May 7 was marked as an off day for us (based on the given schedule). So, too unlucky for me, I had to do it myself in PRC Morayta. Dayyyyym! And the story started there. P.S. Thanks to my friends Jen and Ai for having my papers photocopied! Big help!!! Yay!
I thought I was lucky because my friends Drazen and Janelle were inside. I thought I could make some singit sessions there. But then I arrived at Morayta with a line of people reaching the bridge. (Gulp!) What am I supposed to do? I rushed at the start of the line to check if my friends were there but I was pretty much wrong about that. I saw none of them. It ends up for me falling at the end of the line. Hassle! It was 8 am that time. Lucky for me because the line was just free flowing. I got to step inside around 10 minutes later or less.  The only problem I experienced outside during the line, I guess, was because of the vendors of glues, pastes and envelopes. They were provoking us on buying. My mind was terrorized because they acted really well. I almost believed them. I almost gave a bite. It was just pretty good for me to realize what our professors did tell us about the requirements. I cannot remember them telling us to bring gallons of pastes and having specific kinds of envelopes, except for the mailing envelope of course. And take note, they even made CEDULA-MAKING a business. Fraud! Tsk tsk. But then, it was just too funny because "bumenta talaga mga tinderang yun sakin." Hypnotized! No, better name me as  Fooled. UTU-UTO!!! Almost!
Well, back to the story. I was already hurrying to find my friends because all I was seeing at that moment were lines. Long lines of people everywhere! I just needed to call Janelle so I could find them more easily. I got lost at first but thank God I finally saw them. But then, dilemmas came in and in. I had no doc stamps yet, no mailing envelope, no whatsoever. I got pretty messed up even if I wasn't showing that I was. The processing took almost an hour, I guess that was the longest part of it. Then I had a slight problem about it too. My photo wasn't scanned. I submitted my photo already but maybe it wasn't processed yesterday since I wasn't there to apply. Goodness, they made a way quickly. I didn't need to fall back in line again.
I met a lot of nursing graduates from different places. All were clamoring about the singit problems. I was just fortunate they never caught me! Haha! The PRC officers kept on calling our names. Every section of the process, I guess, my name was called. If I had to win a dollar on every call, I might have had my payment free alread. Hahaha, seriously! Then when I had to pay already, there was an old man officer who was very rude on us examiners. He kept on pushing us away from the seats we were in just to give way to people who never even took the line from the start. SINGIT PROBLEMS!!! Before I got my temper high, my name was called by the cashier. Handed her a thousand for the 900 pesos fee (which is as good as my allowance for 3 days!) Then from there, I proceeded to the last step which was the 12th window. I thought it would only take some minutes. But that some minutes turned out to be half an hour. And the window lady officer was again rude! Dayyyym, can't they get enough of that rudeness? But then there, almost 30 minutes of waiting and my NOA was already issued. Time check: 10 am! Time to go home! But since I was bleeding of thirst, I passed by Simple Line Morayta and gulped some drinks.
With this experience, I learned that graduating as a Thomasian nurse is such a privilege.  I guess it was just lucky enough we're among those schools who had PRC come to us personally for a lesser pain filing. Well except with my case because I wasn't present during the hassle-free application inside our building itself. Haha. But I guess, because of it I learned. Well, at least now I can say that I am a lot more at ease with my confidence with the board exams. I thought I'll never gonna make it with the filing with the busy review schedule we have. Thank goodness! I am just so lucky to have good friends most especially Jen. I was really touched because she thought of my sake yesterday. *Hugs
Well then, I just thought that I needed to share this. I guess the experience was just too funny. FOR ME, AT LEAST. Hahaha!
